Cerca de 19% dos perfis de grandes marcas são falsos

Um a cada cinco perfis de grandes marcas nas redes sociais são falsos, aponta o Relatório de Cibersegurança e Fraude em Redes Sociais da empresa Proofpoint. De acordo com o levantamento realizado em 4.840 contas como Facebook, Twitter, Youtube e Instagram, 902 (cerca de 19%) eram falsas.

Tais contas, associadas a marcas como BMW, Capital One, Chanel, Amazon, Directv, Nike, Samsung, Shell, Sony e Starbucks, foram criadas para gerar receita fraudulenta de publicidade, roubar dados dos usuários ou vender produtos falsificados na rede.
 
Ainda segundo a pesquisa, a criação de contas fraudulentas está crescendo. Nos três primeiros meses de 2016 foram identificadas 500 novas contas ao mês. Já no segundo trimestre, o número saltou para 600.
 
A Proofpoint alerta que a publicidade nas redes sociais, apesar de em primeiro momento ser vantajoso para determinadas empresas, também possibilita os chamados “cibercrimes” e outros tipos de fraudes, que visam roubar dados ou enganar clientes – além de prejudicar a imagem das marcas originais.
